Farms and Family

Hailey and Aunt Minna
Yee Haw

Hailey, Aunt Minna, Aunt Melanie, and (the new brother-in-law to be) Josh

His Element
Hailey liked milking the cow. Brian liked squirting his sisters.

The Farmlands

The area where we are building our home used to be all farmland. One benefit of this is that we will have nice black dirt to work with in our yard, the other is that there are still lots of cute little farms around. One street west of us has sheep, cows and horses. Brayden moos at pretty much any farm animal now. Sometimes we will be driving nowhere near a farm and he will just give a random moo while looking out the window. Anyway, apparently we can't get enough and decided to visit a couple of farms.

A farm near Logan happened to have "Baby Animal Days" on Hailey's birthday. Brian took the day off and we went to check out the baby animals. Hailey was not in the mood for too many pictures, she didn't want to touch the animals or let her dad pull her in a handcart. We were pretty frustrated with her until she developed a fever on the way home. Other than that, it was a blast!

Baby Chicks

The highlight of the afternoon for Hailey was the Yak and the Llama (notice her favorite shirt has a llama on it.) The steer was a little more tame for a picture though.

Easter

There was a little controversy about Brayden's Easter outfit. Brian called it "the dress" which it was not. Shortalls, romper, maybe....dress....nnno. He was trying to teach Brayden how to say various power tools all day to save his masculinity. I think he looked adorable and you could put him in a tutu and he would still look like a boy. Anyway the kid's matched and I won't put it on him again (except maybe for a picture at the mall). Other than that, Easter was nice. Brian's parents, Aunt Megan, Aunt Melanie and her fiance Josh came up for dinner. Hailey was quite interested in Josh (I think she might have a little crush.)

Tired, Tired, Mad, Sad

I took a couple of pictures on the way home. Can you match the description with the child?

Birthday Sleepover Part 2

The next morning we went to The Children's Museum. It has been moved to the Gateway and everything is new. The kid's had a great time. I highly recommend it if you are in town but it is a little pricey.

They had a play house with a kitchen and family room etc. In the family room they had a little mouse hole complete with mouse sized furniture. You press the button and the lights go on inside. Very cute....

Whipping up something tasty.

Gardening

Construction Workers
Crane Operator

Hailey's favorite activity was the grocery store area. The kids had baskets and went around the store and chose their food. Then they were able to pretend to be cashiers to check out customers. No pictures though. They had another area devoted to balls and putting balls in holes and down tubed and up lifts. That was Brayden's favorite area if you can imagine. We do have pictures of that but they turned out blurry.
